When do I need to register for the Renovation Quality guarantee?
You need to register your renovation project for the Renovation Quality guarantee BEFORE the work begins. Once the work has started, it can no longer be guaranteed.
What can I expect from the inspection process for renovation work?
The number of inspections typically varies in accordance with the complexity and size of the renovation project. All inspections are carried out by ACQ Résidentiel’s team of building inspectors. The objective is to identify any issues present and make any corrections necessary to ensure you are fully satisfied with your renovations once the work is complete.
Does the Renovation Quality guarantee apply to co-ownerships (condos)?
Yes. The Renovation Quality guarantee applies to renovations in high rise condo buildings. The guarantee can be issued to an owner for work done in the private portion (condo) or condominium syndicate for work done in the common areas of the co-ownership.
If I already have a bid from a contractor, is my project still eligible for the Renovation Quality guarantee?
Yes, but you need to register your renovation project BEFORE the work starts. We will evaluate your contractor and issue a certificate of guarantee if the contractor and project meet all eligibility criteria for the guarantee.
